1package uncooked bratsyou can cook as many as you need
1teaspoonvegetable oil
Instructions
Preheat your air fryer to 350°F. Pat dry each bratwurst with a paper towel. Make shallow slits on each sausage using a sharp knife. This helps prevent bursting during cooking time. You can also pierce them with a tooth pick as an alternative. Lightly coat brats with vegetable or avocado oil for browning and crispier skin.
Place the brats in the preheated air fryer basket. Air fry at 350°F for 7 minutes. Flip the brats, then increase the temperature to 390°F and cook for another 5-7 minutes or until fully cooked. Brats are ready when they reach an internal temperature of 160°F. Note: if you choose not to make slits, air fry them at lower temperatures ( 300-330°F) for about 17-19 minute or until fully cooked. This helps prevent splitting.
Serve them on a hotdog bun with classic ketchup and mustard, or go with the traditional sauerkraut, boiled or roasted potatoes, and bread.
Notes
Do not overcrowd the air fryer basket and cook brats in batches if needed. You can cook them sliced into rounds with vegetables. If you have frozen brats, do no need to thaw them. Simply cook them 7-10 minutes longer in the air fryer. Use the instant read thermometer to check if the internal temperature of the brats has reached 160°F or 165°F if your brats have poultry.
