No need to worry about thawing frozen steak when you have an air fryer. Just pop the frozen steak straight from the freezer in your air fryer for a tender, home-cooked meal in no time. Nothing beats an easy, comforting dinner like this.
Preheat air fryer for 5 minutes to 400°F. Rub frozen steak with 1 tablespoon olive oil on both sides. Season it with ¼ teaspoon of salt. You can use more salt to you liking.
Place seasoned steak in a preheated air fryer basket. Air fry for 10 minutes at 400°F. Remove the basket, season the steak with ¼ teaspoon black pepper and ¼ teaspoon garlic powder on both sides and flip it. Air fry for another 5-12 minutes at 400°F or until desired doneness is reached (see notes below). I recommend using the meat thermometer to check for the internal temperature.
Add 1 teaspoon butter on a hot steak and let it rest inside the air fryer basket for about 5 minutes. If you wish, add more salt and black pepper before serving.
Notes
½ to 1 inch thick frozen steaks:
Rare (120–125°F): Air fry for 12-14 minutes.
Medium rare (130–135°F): Air fry for 14-16 minutes.
Medium (140–145°F): Air fry for 12-18 minutes.
Medium well (150–155°F): Air fry for 14-20 minutes.
Well done (160°F+): Air fry for 16-22 minutes.
1 ½ to 2 ½ inches thick frozen steaks:
Rare (120–125°F): Air fry for 14-18 minutes.
Medium rare (130–135°F): Air fry for 16-20 minutes.
Medium (140–145°F): Air fry for 18-22 minutes.
Medium well (150–155°F): Air fry for 20-24 minutes.
